Why Stotts Fishing Adventures?
We understand that there are many, many outfitters to choose from when trying to decide who will be your fishing guide, and you have to wonder what is so different about Stott’s Fishing Adventures. We, along with our clients think we have something very special here. Our company motto “More than Fishing” embraces what we put into our adventures. There are both cheaper and more expensive fishing trips out there. As a family, we decided that we wanted to offer the very best rods and reels, custom boats, lunches and most knowledgeable guides on the water. We even created a gift bag to show our appreciation for fishing with us. Considering all the amenities we offer, we are a very reasonable priced fishing trip.
World Class B-Run Steelhead
The Clearwater River in Lewiston Idaho is considered one of the premier Steelhead fisheries in the United States. What makes these fish so special is that they stay out in the ocean for 3 years and return mammoth. Fish in the 18-20 pound class are not a rare sight and putting double - digit fish in the net is common. This prime fishery has a very exclusive number of outfitters licensed to operate their business on and we own one of them. No other river in the Northwest compares to our large B-run fish and the seven months season we get to chase these brutes. This is Idaho trophy steelhead fishing and why anglers seek out the Clearwater River.
Stott’s Fishing Adventures takes great pride in taking care of our clients, treating them just like family. The Stottlemyre family, well known in the professional baseball world bring their love and passion for fishing to the rivers of the great northwest. We take our fishing serious and our clients too. Mel Sr. and Mel Jr. own and operate the family business along with son’s Colton and Blaise who can be seen netting clients fish. We are very proud of our guides who are part of our family too.
Stott's fishing guides have designed their vessels with the clients comfort and fishability in mind. We each assisted in the designing process before we had our sleds built locally, keeping the Clearwater River's changing water flows in mind. Each jet boat can accommodate up to 6 fishermen and a deckhand. We set the boats up to be able to fish different techniques that occur on our guided adventures. On each guided trip, we include a hot BBQ lunch which is cooked on a Weber BBQ that each guide has on board. We also kept diversity in mind to give our clients options.
Each one of our vessels comes with a different comfort and fishing method. We are proud to offer to our clients that want to back-troll and be under a covered top or casting side drifting gear in our open sled. For the client that wants total serenity, we have your drift-boat adventure covered. Thanks to our great team of guides, we give our clients the best!
We like to think of ourselves as your private coach. Part of being a good coach is being able to learn and adjust to your student. Those adjustments also apply to our fishing and everything that goes with it. Water flow, barometer, temperature, water clarity, and stubborn fish effect success. We are very proud of our team who give our clients every opportunity to catch fish and all willing to make adjustments. Side drifting, back trolling, bobber dogging, and float fishing are all in our guides tool belt. We even offer early season Fly fishing! Because of our guides diversity we are able to offer trips to any group size and any level of fisherman. We will accommodate your group; just let us know your style!
