Plan Your Fishing Adventure

Planning a guided fishing trip on the Clearwater River or the Snake River in Hells Canyon with Stott’s Fishing Adventures is the easy part.  Deciding how long you want to fish is the big dilemma.  To ensure you have a wonderful experience, we have compiled a list of information to help you prepare for your guided fishing trip and lodging experience.

WEATHER

The Lewiston/Clarkston Valley has mild weather and is considered part of the Banana Belt but be prepared to dress in layers as the weather can be unpredictable.  We fish year round on these two rivers so please check our weather forecast to help you prepare for your guided fishing adventure.  

FISHING GEAR CHECKLIST

Planning your fishing trip with Stott’s is an exciting event.  Making sure your group is well prepared is important to us.  Below are a few items that we have found useful to get you ready for your fishing trip:

  • Waterproof rain gear – Cold weather gear
  • Comfortable boots
  • Gloves
  • Sunglasses
  • Hat or stocking cap
  • Camera
  • Valid Idaho Fishing License (License may be purchased in Lewiston at either Camp, Cabin & Home, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Blacksheep, Tri-State Outiftters or Clearwater River Casino.)
  • Sunblock
  • Camera
  • Handwarmers for late winter fishing
  • Cooler to take your catch back with you

WHAT WE PROVIDE

On every guided adventure, we provide bait & tackle, water, non-alcoholic beverages, coffee, and cook a hot BBQ lunch on one of the River’s beaches.  We guarantee at least 8 hours of fishing and will clean and package your catch for the return home.  We use the finest Gary Loomis Edge Rods matched with a Diawa reel and suffix fishing line.  As a company we have partnered with the industries best fishing equipment providers to enhance your fishing experience; therefore no other fishing gear is required. 

LODGING

The Lewiston valley offers a variety of lodging choices for your convenience.  Most of our clients choose to stay at the Little Canyon Lodge in Peck, ID or the Best western River’s Edge in Orofino, ID.  With our All-Inclusive fishing package your will be housed at the Little Canyon Lodge.  Feel free to call us for lodging assistance.

AIRPORT

When choosing to visit us by plane, Lewiston airport offices flights from Delta and Alaska Airlines.  Car rentals are also available at the airport.  With our All –inclusive packages transportation to the lodge will be provided.  (Airport code is LWS).

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

Stott’s Fishing Adventures is based out of Lewiston, ID, in the heart of some of the world’s best steelhead fishing rivers.  Below are driving times from various Northwest locations.  We will be happy to assist you with any traveling questions you may have.

Seattle to Lewiston - 5 hours

Portland to Lewiston - 6 hours

Missoula to Lewiston - 4 hours

Boise to Lewiston - 5 ½ hours

Tri-Cities to Lewiston - 2 hours

Spokane to Lewiston - 2 hours
