Fishing Seasons

Stott's Fishing Adventures uses the finest fishing guides and equipment on all our adventures. We are a year around fishing company and have lots of package options for your group. While we specialize in Salmon and Steelhead, we also target Sturgeon and Smallmouth Bass. The Clearwater River is our main fishery as it gives us ten solid months of trophy fishing. Our team also fishes the Columbia River, Snake River, Grande Ronde River, Buoy 10, and the Hanford Reach. We've broken up our fishing by seasons so that you can choose what fits best for your group. Each one of our seasons offers anglers something different. Species, fishing techniques, body of water, and guide choice are all decisions our clients will have to make. One thing we know for sure is that fishing Oregon, Washington, and Idaho we'll have your fishing needs covered.

Thanks for visiting our Website and letting us share our fishing vision with you.

Spring Fishing

Spring Fishing on the Clearwater River in Lewiston Idaho means the Springer’s are on their way. Entering the Columbia River from Astoria Oregon these fish will travel 450 miles making their way up the Columbia and Snake River to the Confluence of the Clearwater. The Spring Salmon fishery starts late April and will give us a solid run into the latter part of June. This is an exciting time of the year with pods and pods of chrome salmon pushing their way up river towards the town of Orofino Idaho.

Summer Fishing

The summer fishing season sends our guides to waters throughout Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Such a diverse season with lots of fishing options make this time of year very popular. Our Hells Canyon Snake River sturgeon trips out of Clarkston Washington are truly a trophy fishery. Fishing for 8-10 foot prehistoric fish in deep holes surrounded by the beauty of Hells Canyon cliffs with its abundance of wild life is a rare treat. As soon as our Spring Salmon fishing is over on the Clearwater River we immediately shift over to the Snake to fish for sturgeon.

Fall Fishing

The Lewis and Clark Valley provides exclusively our fall fishing adventures on two of the top fishing rivers in the North West, the Clearwater River and Snake River in the Hells Canyon area. September kicks off our steelhead season on the Clearwater for catch and release. The Clearwater is one of the premier steelhead fisheries in the United States and we own one of the exclusive permits to operate our guide service on. The fall run is one of our favorite times to catch fish, as they are playful and plentiful.  Fresh bright fish arriving from the Columbia River pour in to our system. Lewiston Idaho this time of the year is a fishing paradise drawing anglers from all over.

Winter Fishing

The Clearwater River winter steelhead season is without a doubt our busiest part of the year. Our guides are in full force and the fish have pushed in. Other rivers in the Northwest fight blowouts due to heavy rainfall but not the Clearwater. Steady water flow from the North Fork with occasional snowmelt creates a glacier green color that is perfect for side drifting. Our exclusive permit to fish the river offers us 7 months of trophy steelhead fishing. The Clearwater B- run steelhead are some of the largest in the World and average 12-13 pounds. Our guides live on this river and know every nook and cranny.

More On Winter Fishing

All our guided fishing adventures will be operated by a Stott's company fishing guide and not contracted out by another outfitters guide. We've prided ourselves by establishing a team of guides that get to know our clients and their fishing needs. Our goal is to make each fishermen a better angler, and to give them a guided trip to remember.

Our guides live by our company motto "More than Fishing" and follow some core values that help formulate Stott's fishing brand. These principles will be honored on each guided adventure. This we can guarantee

Fish Hard - While we guarentee at least 8 hours of fishing, it's not uncommon to see our guides fish right up to the end of the day.

Coach our Clients - We like to think of ourselves as your private coach. This part starts the minute you step into one of our vessels. There's a lot to learn on each trip

Use the best equipment - this applies to both our boats and gear we use. We decided as a company that we would not cut any corners when it came time to putting the best fishing rod and reel in our clients hands. Gary Loomis and Diawa took care of this for us!

Provide the best BBQ lunch - I'm not going to tell you what the others don't do but I will tell you how we do it. All our guides have weber BBQ's on board and will provide a nice hot BBQ lunch on one of our beaches. We also provide water, pop, and coffee for our clients. It's not uncommon to find some homemade soups along with some special treats to top it off.

And most of all.... make sure our clients have fun.
